Disability Service
New St. Paul Head Start welcomes children with special needs. The Disability Service Area provides our families with a full range of services. These services are based on the individual needs of the child. It is extremely important that parents are involved in every step. This begins with valuable information given to our staff by the parent and the child's doctor during the enrollment process. NSPHS complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act several of our centers are disability accessible. Accessibility allows for full inclusion of all children and their parents. Accommodations are made for comfort, safety and participation in all area’s of the program to meet the child’s individual needs. Staff and parents work together with appropriate professionals such as speech therapist, social workers, nutritionist, and psychologist to ensure that children with special needs are provided the most appropriate Head Start experience possible. |
NSPHS collaborates with schools within our community to ensure children with special needs have a smooth transition into public schools.
NSPHS strives to maximize services for children with special needs and to lay the foundation for future success. If you suspect that your child may need special help please share this information with your child's teacher. Early help is always best. |
